Description / Appearance

Gabrielle has green eyes and long blond hair that he only puts in a low ponytail when he goes into a fight. Usually he wears comfortable clothing in ‘foresty’ colors like browns and greens. They’re not necessarily on the looser side as he doesn’t like when they bunch up underneath his armor. Since Morric’s death there’s a constant frown on his face that only softens when he talks to Thena or Lionel.

Personality Traits

Gabrielle was never great at talking about his feelings. Believing that only Morric could ever really understand him and his thoughts, he now feels emotionally numb and doesn’t trust himself to communicate well with others. That’s why he’d rather stay cold and straight to the point when he talks. Making use of his military training to push emotional connections aside, Gabrielle tries to think 5 steps ahead in every situation. He takes care of himself, tries to look well put together, even though he doesn’t feel like it.

Gabrielle doubts himself, fearing that his father was right and that he will never be good enough for the tasks in front of him. Now he feels constantly on edge and expects a wrong turn of events around every corner. He doesn’t know what he’d do if he loses one more person important to him or if he finds himself unworthy of the trust that Soren and Morric have put in him.

Background

Back home, Gabrielle and Morric were responsible for a defeat of the Woodelves when they were defending their forests. They are responsible for the death of thousands and knowing that their name and reputation will forever be tarnished by that, Gabrielle gave up on ever redeeming himself in the eyes of his people. While he always reacted with offense when he was accused and reminded of what he did by the woodelves, or by his father, deep down he always knew that they were right to treat him badly. Gabrielle was jealous of Morric still being able to put so much effort into redeeming himself, but never found it in himself to join him. Leaving their home was a relief for him, but it was only the beginning to Gabrielle feeling like he completely lost his way.

Morric	Brother of my soul	They only had each other, together they went through everything and it was always Morric who Gabrielle measured himself against. He wanted to protect Morric from his own urge to find redemption, and losing him was the worst possible pain Gabrielle had ever experienced. He is still mourning.
Soren	Fatherfigure?Mentor?Idol?	The few days were enough for Soren to leave an everlasting impression on Gabrielle. He still wants to hold true to the last promise Soren asked of them. He misses him and is remorseful about the missed opportunity of having someone in his life that could give him the guidance his own father never could.
Lavender	Good Friend	She is the only one remaining who knew what had happened at the Adairn mansion. She is a confidant who also shares the burden of their last promise to Soren. Gabrielle trusts her.
Thena	Ward	She is what remains of Soren’s legacy. Gabrielle is desperate to protect her, relating a little bit to the stress he thinks Soren might have felt when Thena had joined them at the battle against the Goliath tribes. He knows she wants to be treated as an equal and he wants to support her, even though the promise of protecting Soren’s family is always going to be his first priority.
Lionel	Ward	Soren’s legacy and Morric’s sacrifice. Gabrielle will protect him no matter the cost, but he is terrified of making the same mistakes his father had made with him and Morric. If he could take Lionel’s suffering away he would do it immediately.
Lord Kuornos Naarthil	biological father	Gabrielle resents him, but there’s his inner child that still longs for his approval, which he will never get.
Lord Kharis Naarthil	older brother	Grateful that he allowed Morric to be buried in his home, but still not ready to let go of his resentment. Kharis knowlingly left them with a father that abused the twins.
